Most of what we do. Slipped, cracked and missing tiles, failed flashings, split flat roofs and leaks that have been quietly getting worse for years.

Finding the leak is usually the hard part — water can travel a long way along a batten before it appears on a ceiling. We trace it properly rather than patching the nearest damp-looking spot and hoping.

When a roof has reached the end of its life, we strip it back, check and replace anything wrong with the timbers underneath, and rebuild it — new membrane, new battens, and your choice of slate, clay or concrete tile.

Dry ridge and dry verge systems as standard, so there is no mortar up there waiting to crack and let water in a few winters later.

Extensions, dormers, garages, outbuildings, bay roofs and commercial units. We fit EPDM rubber, GRP fibreglass and torch-on felt systems, and we will tell you which one actually suits the roof rather than which one we prefer laying.

Falls and drainage are where flat roofs are won or lost. Get those wrong and water sits on it — which is why so many flat roofs fail long before they should.

Lead is the most common failure point on a London roof and one of the most skilled parts of the job. Flashings, soakers, valleys, bay roof tops and chimney aprons — dressed and fitted properly so they last as long as the roof around them.

On chimneys we also repoint, re-lead, rebuild stacks, fit cowls, and cap off or remove redundant chimneys entirely.

Blocked and leaking gutters cause more damp walls than almost anything else on a house, and they are the cheapest thing on this page to put right.

We clear, repair and replace guttering and downpipes, and renew fascias and soffits in UPVC or aluminium.

Moss holds water against the tiles and pushes it underneath them, and the clumps that break off block the gutters. Left long enough it shortens the life of an otherwise sound roof.

We strip the moss, clear the gutters and check the whole roof over while we are up there. It is the cheapest work we do and it prevents the most expensive.
